Indications & Areas of Application
Cupping therapy is a traditional treatment method within Traditional Chinese Medicine. Special cups are placed on the skin to create negative pressure, which stimulates blood circulation, metabolism, and the body’s self-healing processes. In our practice in Zurich, cupping is used individually depending on the condition – either as stationary cupping or as moving (gliding) cupping.
Today, cupping therapy is also widely used in integrative medicine as a supportive treatment and is often combined with acupuncture, Tuina, or physiotherapy.

How Cupping Works (TCM Explanation)
According to the concept of Qi, cupping aims to release blockages in the flow of energy and activate
stagnant processes in the body. From a modern perspective, it promotes local blood circulation, stimulates connective tissue, and supports muscle relaxation.
Important Information
Cupping therapy can be a valuable supportive treatment for various conditions. However, it does not replace medical diagnosis or necessary medical treatment and is often used as a complementary
therapy alongside other forms of care.
